Frequently Asked Questions

Is GigMetrix free?

Yes. GigMetrix is currently free to use - multiple platforms, no subscription required.

Which gig platforms are supported?

Amazon Flex, Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub, Spark, Roadie, Instacart and Shipt are built in, and you can add custom platforms under Platforms. One account supports all of them at once.

Can I track multiple vehicles?

Yes. Add as many vehicles as you like and choose which one you used for each session. Vehicle profitability is reported separately.

Does GigMetrix automatically track mileage?

No. GigMetrix does not use GPS or auto-track miles. You enter miles per work session, and the app turns them into cost and profitability analytics.

Can I edit a saved session?

Yes. Work sessions are never locked. Enter rough numbers in the car, then correct them later - gross, miles, tips and adjustments are all editable.

How are tips and adjustments handled?

Gross Earnings = Base Earnings + Tips + Adjustments. Adjustments can be positive or negative and accept an optional note explaining the change.

What is operating profit?

Operating Profit = Gross Revenue minus estimated vehicle operating costs (miles times your per-mile rates) minus additional deductible expenses. It is the profit your gig work actually produced.

How is real hourly rate calculated?

Real Hourly Rate = Operating Profit divided by actual hours worked, before estimated tax reserves.

Why is my real hourly rate lower than gross hourly pay?

Because gross ignores vehicle costs and expenses. Real hourly rate subtracts fuel, tire, maintenance, insurance and replacement reserves plus other expenses, so it reflects what the hour was truly worth.

What is a maintenance allowance?

A per-mile reserve you set aside for future repairs. When you actually pay for maintenance, mark the expense as covered by the allowance so it is not deducted twice.

Can I save default stations?

Yes. Save stations under Profile > My Stations, assign each to a platform, and mark one default per platform. The session form preselects your default automatically.

How does the tax reserve tracker work?

GigMetrix estimates a recommended reserve (custom percentage or calculated estimate), then compares it to the amount you report saved and shows the difference. For planning purposes only.

Are GigMetrix tax estimates suitable for filing taxes?

No. Tax figures are planning estimates only and are not tax advice. Consult a tax professional for filing.

Is GigMetrix affiliated with Amazon or other delivery platforms?

No. GigMetrix is an independent business analytics platform and is not affiliated with Amazon, Uber, DoorDash, Grubhub, Spark, Instacart, Shipt, or any delivery platform.
